Kaos GL Volunteer Correspondent Network Training Was Held In Ankara

The first Correspondent Network training of the new term took place on October 8-9, in Ankara. From now on, all volunteers who attended the Correspondent Network training can be a part of Kaos GL Magazine and kaosgl.org with their reports/articles/interviews. 

On the first day, a faculty member of Ege University, Melek Göregenli, trained the volunteer correspondent applicants about the subjects such as ‘discrimination’ and ‘homophobia’. On the second day, a journalist, İrfan Aktan, got together with the volunteer correspondent applicants and talked about the  techniques of journalism.

 

What does Kaos GL expect from the local correspondents?

Kaos GL, takes a step forward in the process of making the issues of LGBT visibility with the magazine that enables LGBT to create their own agenda and kaosgl.org:

We want to make our own news ourselves and make news which are purified from homophobia and transphobia for the LGBT community.

We want to be up to date about LGBT in all areas of life such as Working life, Law, the rights of LGBT, Mental Health, Education and Campus, Family, Military, Culture& Art, from media to streets, and bring up this agenda to the pages of Kaos GL magazine and kaosgl.org in order to inform the LGBT community in Turkey

We aim to create opportunities to make LGBT be directly the subjects and primary sources of the issues they have in the cities they live in and establish a network for this purpose.

We expect reports, articles, interviews etc. from the correspondents who attended the Local Correspondent Network training.

 

In Istanbul on October 22-23…

The correspondent and author applicants from Istanbul will attend The Local Correspondent Network Training in Istanbul. The volunteer correspondent applicants from near abroad Istanbul, Thrace and South Marmara region can also attend the training in Istanbul. Travel expenses and accommodation charges of the attendants will be covered by Kaos GL.
