Amnesty International organized a kite festival together with Kaos GL in dedication to 17th of May, International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia in Ankara. During the event organized in Ahlatlıbel Park on 18th of May, kites flew against hate and discrimination.

Seçin Tuncel from Kaos GL told about the event:

“For more than a year, there was a ban on LGBTI+ events declared by the Governorate. Although the ban has been lifted by the court, we still encounter some obstacles while organizing our events.

“17th of May is celebrated internationally every year. In order to celebrate it, we came here to fly away our phobias. As LGBTI+s, we are here and everywhere, and we want to live without discrimination and violence.”
