European Youth Dialogue which was held in Thessaloniki ended on Sunday. As part of the event, good examples about diversity were shared in the LGBTI workshop.

Participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, Germany, Scotland and Turkey emphasized that while talking about homophobia and transphobia; ableism, racism and sexism should also be addressed.

The Gezi resistance discussed in Thessaloniki

The workshop underscored the importance of producing and promoting the anti-bias material as well as forming solidarity with different groups. Participants shared their work which turned out to be successful in their own contexts. Participants from Turkey talked about the Gezi resistance, My Child documentary and LGBTI organizations in smaller cities and on campuses.

Participants also came up with their own suggestions in order for the event to be more inclusive.

Three participants told kaosGL.org what kind of a change they want to experience in their country:

Martin (Germany):
Full equality when it comes to marriage, ending the discrimination in blood donations and equality in education...

Damir (Bosnia and Herzegovina):
I want equality and freedom for LGBTIs.

Deniz (Turkey):

I want our constitutional rights to be recognized.
