LGBT individuals protested against transphobic hatred on 20th of November, Sunday in Ankara within the frame of The Week of 20th of November Against Transphobic Hatred. Individuals were against transphobic hatred participated in the protest with the banners ‘The Police: Your Fault Is Being Transvestite’, ‘The State Watches While The Blood Is Shed’, ‘Hate Kills’ and shouted slogans such as ‘Do Not Remain Silent, Do Not Take Part In Crime’, ‘Dilek İnce Is Here, Where Are The Killers?’, ‘Ahmet Yıldız Is Here, Where Are The Killers?’, ‘Those Who Do Not Find The Killers Are Abettors’, ‘We Will Not Kill, We Will Not Die. We Will Not Be Anyone’s Soldiers’.
Before the march that was organized by The Pink Life Association, people against transphobic hatred had come together on Sakarya Avenue at 13.00. Berlin State Assembly Member Hakan Taş who were the first gay legislator from Turkey and fashion designer Barbaros Şansal participated in the protest that was supported by Kaos GL. The Protest ended on Yüksel Avenue.

In the press statement after the protest, ‘We came together to say ‘STOP’ to the violence against trans individuals in Turkey, to draw the attention of the legislators and the government officials to the hate crimes against trans individuals and to invite public to be sensitive on this issue.’ was said. In the statement which indicated that trans individuals who claimed their rights were victimized again, the murders of trans people were emphasized: ‘Unfortunately Turkey continues to be one of the countries where the violence against trans people is encountered mostly. As of October, 7 trans people were murdered in 2011 while 8 trans people had been murdered in 2010.’ The press statement ended with the slogans ‘ Police Get Your Hands Off Me’, ‘Neither Crime, Nor Sin. Long Live The Homosexual Love.’

The Istanbul part of The March Against Transphobic Hatred will take place on 27 November 2011, Sunday at 17.00 in Taksim Square.
