The second Thessaloniki Pride is taking place on 14-15 June with the participation of local and national LGBT organisations. The theme of this year’s pride is “Free Spirits, Free Bodies”. 

The first Pride in northern city Thessaloniki was planned as an event to celebrate the culture of LGBTs in Greece. The festival started on 22nd of June with a music event in Katholikon Street with the participation of DJs and the local LGBT community. The celebration on June 23rd in the pedestrian area of Agia Sofia Street contained music concerts, DJ sets, LGBT information desks and a parade.
 
The slogan for the first Pride was “One Love, a Thousand Colours”. The event intended to commemorade of the Stonewall riots, a pivotal moment in the modern LGBT rights movement. The event was organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
