Ann Linde, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden instructed ministry staff to raise “the increased stigmatization of LGBTIs in Turkey” with Turkish counterparts and in EU.

Ann Linde, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden tweeted about the increased discrimination targeting LGBTI+ community in Turkey after the recent smear campaigns in the country.
Minister defined the situation as “worrying signs of increased stigmatisation of LGBTI-persons” and also said that they will raise this with Turkish counterparts and in EU.
Linde said, “Worrying signs of increased stigmatisation of LGBTI-persons worldwide during Covid-19 pandemic, for example in Turkey. Have instructed ministry staff to raise this with Turkish counterparts and in EU” in her tweet.
