The verdict wasn’t rendered in the sixth hearing of Hande Buse Şeker case, which was reheard following the judgment's reversal.

It was decided to wait forensic report within the scope of the trial heard at the İzmir 4th Heavy Penal Court on February 6. The case was postponed to May 8, at 11.00 am.

Volkan Hicret, who has been put on trial within the scope of Hande Buse Şeker, who was killed at her home by her police officer punter in 2019, and other mistreated trans women case, had been sentenced to 42 years besides life sentence at the final trial which was heard on November 26, 2020.

The judgment, which İzmir Regional Court 4th Criminal Department passed, was reversed upon the request of appeal by Young LGBTI+ Association regarding increasing of punishment.

The court; didn’t accept the request about heavy life sentence for first degree murder however demanded increasing of punishment on the grounds of sexual assault, plundering and injury crimes and evaluated the involvement of Ministry of Family and Social Services is contrary to law.
