The meeting of the Parliamentary Women’s Group of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (HEDEP) started with the presentation of Group Deputy Chairperson Meral Danış Beştaş and the screening of a cinevision prepared for the November 25 International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

After the screening, co-chair Tülay Hatimoğulları gave a speech. Remembering Patria, Minerva and Maria Teresa, Hatimoğulları said: “They created a butterfly effect with their struggle. Butterflies have a short lifespan, but they are colorful”:

“Dear women, we gathered today for the November 25 International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. In 1960, the Mirabel sisters were murdered because of fighting for freedom and equality. We will take their legacy from where they left it and carry it even further. Their struggle created a butterfly effect. Butterflies have a short lifespan, but they are colorful."
