Ipek, a trans sex worker, was assaulted in a hate crime on Sunday night by two people after agreeing on terms. She was beaten, stabbed, and left for dead in a deserted orange grove in the southern city of Mersin.
Last night, Ipek, a trans sex worker got in the car with two men. She was attacked before she could understand what was happening. She was then driven to an orange grove out of town, where she was stabbed and beaten to the brink of death before being left there.

The two assailants drove away after leaving Ipek in the field to die. She was found unconscious yesterday morning by farmers arriving for work.

Co-Mayor of Municipality paid a visit to the woman
Co-Mayor of Mersin Akdeniz Municipality Yuksel Mutlu visited the woman in the hospital yesterday. Yuksel, an outspoken LGBTI ally, attended the International Anti-Homophobia Meeting in 2013 organized by Kaos GL Association where she made the following statement about the Kurdish peace process:
“This should not only be a peace for those who have been fighting. This should not be a peace between PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) and TSK (Turkish Armed Forces). It should be a peace for LGBTs, women, Alawis and all.”
