LGBTI+ activists participated in the “We are not giving up theİstanbul Convention” rally with their flags and slogans!

With all that rage, a mouthful of fun and rightful resistance
Lighting the fires and topping it up
With all the sensitivities, a pinch of family values and all kinds of hatred
Boil, my cauldron; burn, my fire!”

The "We are not giving up the İstanbul Convention" rally started in Maltepe, İstanbul. Feminists and LGBTI+ activists from all around the country gathered in Maltepe before the July 1st, when the decision to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention will take effect.
Police tried to intervene in rainbow flags as the crowd of 131 women and LGBTI+ organizations began gathering at the site for the rally. Flags entered the rally area after the intervention attempt of police.
The crowd often chanted "There is such thing as lesbian, mesbian", "Jin jiyan azadi", "Deniz Poyraz is immortal", "Feminist rebellion", "We are not silent, we are not afraid, we do not obey" during the rally.
İstanbul LGBTI+ Pride Week initiative participated the demonstration with their own banner. The banner with rainbow and trans flags said:

LGBTI+ activists carried rainbow, trans, lesbian, intersex, bisexual and non-binary flags during the rally.
The rally continued with speeches, concerts and slogans.
